Susi Bascon, Director
Susi Bascon is the Director of Peace Brigades International (PBI) UK Section, an organisation that provides tailored support and protection to over 1000 human rights defenders around the world. Susi completed an MBA and an MSc in Development Studies and worked in the private sector for several years, before moving into the voluntary sector. She worked as an international observer for PBI in Mexico and began leading the PBI UK office in 1998. Jointly with late patron Sir Henry Brooke, she launched the Alliance for Lawyers at Risk in 2010, a network of high profile pro bono lawyers interested in supporting HRDs at risk. Susi also led PBI’s campaign for the nomination of the global community of human rights defenders for the 2018 Nobel Peace Prize.
Adam Lunn, Advocacy Officer
Adam joined PBI UK in 2015 as Advocacy Officer and currently leads the work on international policy, advocacy, research, business and human rights and trainings. Prior to joining the PBI UK team he spent a year as an international human rights observer with PBI Guatemala. Adam has an MA in Latin American Studies from UCL Institute of the Americas and was previously at ABColombia; a UK based advocacy platform for human rights and peace in Colombia.
Laura Grace, Fundraiser
Laura joined PBI UK in 2019. Before joining PBI she worked in trust fundraising at a range of charities delivering services to women and children.
Chris Poole, Finance Officer
Chris joined the team in 2019, having previously worked for the MS Society, Grant Thornton LLP and the Audit Commission. He is a Chartered Public Finance Accountant and manages PBI's accounts.
Theo Fox, Admin and Communications Officer
Theo started at PBI UK as a volunteer, with previous experience at refugee community organisation Afghan Association Paiwand. He is interested in Latin American history and is currently learning Spanish.
