Honduran journalist and defender of freedom of expression, Dina Meza, has been nominated for the prestigious Human Rights Tulip award of the Dutch government.
The Human Rights Tulip award is organized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, for courageous human rights defenders who promote and support human rights in innovative ways. Dina is one of 10 candidates from around the world.
Dina’s work as a journalist and human rights defender has led her and her family members being threatened and harassed. PBI have been accompanying Dina Meza since May 2014, PBI provides her with protection at a time of high level of violence towards journalists in Honduras.
