The 2.6 Challenge: Sunday 26th April 2020
We are calling on you to join the 2.6 Challenge for Peace Brigades International UK and make a difference for human rights defenders around the world.
All you need to do is choose a challenge, start raising money, and get going!
This can be any challenge you'd like, from running 26km to baking 2.6kgs of bread or leading 26 people in a 2.6-hour yoga class! Anything that relates to the number 26 (or 2.6) and is in keeping with current government guidelines.
Join the nation in The 2.6 Challenge and support PBI UK
What is the 2.6 Challenge?
The 2.6 Challenge is a campaign to save the UK's charities and celebrate our home heroes!
From 26 April, what should have been the date of the 40th London Marathon, households across the UK will be taking on the 2.6 Challenge to get active, have fun, and do their bit to save the UK's charities.
Want to get involved?
It’s simple – just:
1. Dream up a challenge around the number 2.6 or 26
2. Head to JustGiving and donate £26.20 - or whatever you can afford - to PBI UK, or set up a sponsorship page
3. Ask your friends and family to sponsor you, and challenge themselves to their own 2.6 Challenge
4. Complete your challenge, and share a photo on social media with the hashtag #TwoPointSixChallenge
For further information on The 2.6 Challenge, including a list of partners and supporters, and for more ideas about what your activity could be, visit twopointsixchallenge.co.uk
Why PBI UK?
By taking part in the 2.6 Challenge for PBI UK, you will be raising vital funds to support our emergency COVID-19 appeal. Here's what your donations will help PBI to do:
1. Work with defenders on alternative protection strategies, when accompaniment is no longer possible
2. Build systems that will allow us to rapidly respond to the specific risks this outbreak brings
3. Provide hope and solidarity to those on the frontline

Our challengers
Our wonderful Director Susi Bascon painted for an incredible 10 hours in support of human rights defenders! The paintings combined were 2.8m in length, well exceeding her target. We will display them in all their glory when the lockdown ends. You can donate to her campaign here.
'It was tiring painting so many canvases in such a short period of time but a real joy to do so in support of human rights defenders. We are creating an ocean of solidarity to ensure they are supported during these challenging times.'
Thanks to the generosity of our supporters, Susi managed to DOUBLE her fundraising target! We are extremely grateful to everyone who chipped in and of course to our wonderful Director for painting for ten hours straight!
And our fundraiser Laura did an unbelievable 26 reps of 26 different exercises! She completed 26…
