PBI Guatemala - Call for Volunteers Now Open

Peace Brigades International Guatemala is seeking dedicated individuals to volunteer on their field team! 

Join PBI Guatemala and work alongside passionate human rights defenders at the forefront of land, access and labour rights struggles in local communities and across Guatemala. You will also become part of a team with a rich history rooted in decades of accompaniment methodology.

The Selection Process

Selected applicants will have the opportunity to attend our training and selection process taking place in Spain from 19th to 25th May 2024. This intensive programme equips you with the skills and knowledge you need to be a successful human rights advocate within our internationally recognised organisation.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Good Level of Spanish: Effective speaking, reading and writing is key to communication in our work.

  • Previous Experience: Your past involvement in grassroots, CBOs, cooperation NGOs, or human rights gives you valuable insights.

  • Basic Computer Knowledge: Proficiency in word processors, email or databases.

  • Commitment: We ask for a 12-month commitment in Guatemala, where you’ll be making a significant impact.

  • Values: Dedication to non-violence, non-partisanship and non-interference is essential.

  • Training: You must be available to participate in our face-to-face training and selection week, a critical step in preparing you for your role.
