Financial summary
A 2022 external evaluation described PBI UK as ‘a strong human rights organisation punching above its weight on a small budget’.
We are proud to offer our donors exceptional value for money. However, in the face of increasing demands for support, rising inflation, and a desire to offer the best quality activities and impact, we have set ourselves the target of doubling our 2022 income by 2026.
We are extremely grateful to our donors who are enabling us to stay on track for that target and to provide the support for human rights defenders.
On 31st December 2025 we were holding reserves of £290,829.
Recognising that this represents approximately 8 months of spending (at 2026 levels), we are continuing our financial strategy to bring our reserves levels down in the medium term to approximately 6 months of planned expenditure.
An important point to note is that over 25% of our income was paid/sub-granted to other PBI entities and to other collaborative organisations in 2025.
In 2025 our income totalled £424,522, categorised into:
Donations and grants from trusts and corporations £369,200
Individual donations and gift aid £47,650
Legacies £1,342
Interest received £6,331
Our 2025 expenditure totalled £349,062 categorised into:
