Run for your rights!
Running 26.2 miles is no small feat at any age, but at 80 years old, Bevis is taking on the incredible challenge to run for human rights, environmental justice, and peace.
We are honoured that long-time supporter and friend of Peace Brigades Bevis Gillett has chosen to celebrate his 80th birthday by taking part in the London Marathon! He'll be running 26.2 miles to raise vital support for human rights activists at risk around the world.
This October 2nd (the International Day of Nonviolence), Bevis will be lacing up his trainers and taking to the streets of London to help PBI UK ‘defend the defenders.’
He’s set himself an incredible target, so please give what you can and help cheer him on!
No other organisation in the world supports threatened human rights defenders in the way PBI does. We stand alongside human rights defenders, we learn from them, and echo their voices. We keep them safe, and we work to ensure their voices are heard. We provide life-saving support to community leaders and other human rights defenders in some of the most dangerous countries in the world, with field projects in Latin America, Asia and Africa.
