PBI Guatemala call for volunteers

Peace Brigades International Guatemala is looking for dedicated people to join the field team. 

Selected volunteers will work alongside human rights defenders on the frontlines of fights for land, access, and labour rights within local communities and Guatemala as a whole. You would be training with a team that is rooted in decades of accompaniment methodology. To learn more about PBI and their work in Guatemala visit their website

The process

Selected applicants will be invited to attend a training and selection process occurring from August 6th through 12th, with invitations to join the team following this process. Those selected will receive extensive training in how to be a good human rights advocate ahead of their placement within our internationally recognized human rights organisation. 

What we are looking for:

  • Spanish fluency 

  • Previous experience working in human rights 

  • Possess basic knowledge of computers: word processors, e-mail or databases.

  • Availability to commit to 12 months in Guatemala

  • Commitment to work following the principles of non-violence, non-partisanship and non-interference.

  • Be available to participate in the training and selection process. Participation in the face-to-face training and selection week is essential.
