Thank you for visiting this page collecting donations towards the work of Peace Brigades International UK Section (PBI UK) in honour of our wedding.

PBI means a great deal to us and does amazing work on a shoestring budget, so instead of gifts we please ask you to give generously.

Peace Brigades International works to protect, support and increase recognition of human rights defenders working in repressive, conflict-affected areas around the world.

The human rights defenders we partner risk their livelihoods, their liberty and, in many cases, their lives to speak out for human rights and justice. No other organisation in the world supports threatened human rights defenders in the way PBI does - we stand alongside them, are guided by them, and amplify their voices. We keep defenders safe so that they can keep working without fear.

PBI UK plays a very specific role in the wider PBI. Along with recruiting skilled volunteers to accompany defenders (more about this from a familiar face in the video to the right), we advocate directly with the UK government and other decision-makers to create the right security, policy and political environments in which defenders can carry out their work. We also design and run training programmes, and work closely with the UK legal community to build connections and make international law work on the ground.
